SPAN ENLARGEMENT OF OVERPASSES ON EXISTING MOTORWAYS

The ever-growing traffic demands on our motorways frequently requires lanes to be added on existing motorways. This requirement has not always been taken into account in the overpass design: the piers often impede the required road widening works to be carried out.

This new system allows increasing the span length of these overpasses without affecting life traffic on or under the overpass, nor altering their load-bearing schemes. The solution provides the enlarged overpasses with a very attractive appearance.
