Description

This building is part of the Segura River Watermills complex; a site of special historic and artistic interest. Its rehabilitation consisted in converting the old flour mills into a cultural centre which contains the Hydraulic Museum, thereby conserving the historic building as a special reminder of our industrial and archaeological heritage.

The building of small dimensions but great structural complexity served as a prototype for subsequent models and systems of far larger dimensions.

The small truncated dome, supported by small sections at the middle of its sides, is similar to that designed later for the Conference Centre in Salamanca.

Equally, the folded structural systems forming the long alignments are similar to those subsequently employed in the Altamira Research Centre.
