NEW TORRIJOS MARKET

The new Torrijos market is characterised by the need to provide a construction solution to a building set between existing buildings in a highly built-up area and one requiring the shortest posible construction time.

The building was subsequently designed to be built following an “up  and down” construction process in which the structure above ground level was to be built at the same time as the basement excavation  and ensuring ra eduction in construction time.

This method also avoided the need for provisional bracing or  anchors for the side retaining walls. The building structure is formed in reinforced concrete and the columns incorporate steel profiles.
