Technical Data

  • Buildings: 1 building
  • Height: 10 m
  • Gross floor area: 600 m2

Description

The project develops the expansion of the wine cellar Poggio Salvi in Montalcino (Italy).

The main building, which contains the storage room for barrels and bottles, is entirely below grade in order to meet the temperature and humidity requirements. It is made up of reinforced concrete perimeter walls which fulfil the ground retaining function and bear three semi-cylindrical concrete vaults.

Taking advance of the variable height of the walls, between 4 and 9 meters, an intermediate slab is defined at the height of 4 meters for the storage of the bottles and to make the connection with the existing building.

In order to create storage room for boxes or unloading areas, three canopies have been foreseen outside. They are characterized by a composite roof deck which bears on top of a framework of steel columns and beams.
