DEVIL'S BRIDGE

The structure is set up as a two-hinged rigid-frame arch system with a span arrangement of 50 + 100 + 50 meter. Large longitudinal, oval holes in the two V-shaped piers give this bridge a light and open appearance. The leng of these piers are prestressed by means of four groups of tendons and their embedded frontal connection sheets ensure a continue transition into the composite variable depth girders.

A traditional construction process has been carried out making use of wooden fromwork for the piers and successive cantilevering of girder segments which, once having closed the arch, form a large steel subset.
