Lifting and assembly of the first main truss of Bilbao Fine Arts Museum

Last Wednesday, the first longitudinal truss supporting the new floating volume of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum was raised and placed. The maneuver took less than three hours and was carried out with two heavy-duty cranes (800 and 600 tons). This is one of the three trusses of 90 tons and 50.85 m span between the two alignments of V-shaped columns that serve as supports for the representative building-bridge of this project, known as Agravitas.

The next step is the welding of the connections to the supports, which can take several days in a row. From there, on to the next level.

Congratulations to all the teams involved in this interesting project and work!
