Barranco de la Bota viaduct steel arch construction finishes

This week, the steel structure of the main span of the Barranco de la Bota Viaduct on the ascent to Puerto de Querol near Morella (Castellón), on the N-232 road, was completed with the key-piece arch closure.

The key closure by placing the last steel piece that constitutes the arch, weighing 52 t and 18 m in length, has been carried out with absolute precision, fitting perfectly between the two previously built semi-arches and without the slightest incidence.

The Barranco de la Bota Viaduct has a length of 482 m in which the main span stands out over its ravine, with a 102 m span that is saved by a double pointed steel arch. The road alligment is curve over the bridge in this section, so the arch is also curved in plan view.

The works are promoted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and the construction is being carried out by the JV formed by Pavasal, Sarrión Construcciones and Nortúnel. The steel fabrication has been carried out by ANRO. The technical assistance of the section is being carried out by TYPSA.

Congratulations to everybody!
