Our history

MC2 Estudio de Ingeniería, S.L. was founded in 1988 by Julio Martínez Calzón, Doctor in Civil Engineering and past holder of the chair in Special Steel Structures at the Civil Engineering College at Madrid Polytechnic University until 2003, and a renowned specialist in the field of structures, with more than forty years of experience. Although establishment of the company dates back to 1988, all the experience and career of Julio Martínez Calzón is collected in the knowhow of the company.

Since it was first established, numerous milestones have been conceived at its offices, with a decisive influence on the design of civil engineering and building structures, and in particular in the design of composite structures in Spain.

All of which has been achieved thanks to a thorough understanding of structural functions built up through experience in the planning of complex and novel types of steel, composite, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridges,  as well as unique, purpose-built buildings, roofs and special structures.

Since 2012 MC2 Estudio de Ingeniería belongs to Typsa Group, a national and international benchmark in civil engineering, architectural, industrial, energy and environmental consultancy.
