BANCO PASTOR BUILDING IN BARCELONA

In order to allow rapid construction of this building, sited in Barcelona’s urban expansion area, a steel-concrete composite structure has been chosen.

The basement floors were excavated while retaining soil and adjacent buildings by means of perimeter retaining walls.

Once the foundations were laid, the steel structure was raised. Later, the steel columns have been completed with concrete so to obtain a composite cross-section which would enable important space savings. The composite slabs were then finished by means of a solid layer of reinforced concrete.
