Description

The basic structural arrangement of the roof to the new Mestalla stadium is that of a double ring with the inner ring in tension and the outer under compression. These rings are joined by a tubular type hybid radial structure and combined ties which then receive moving parts to allow the total or partial opening of the roof according to the type of  event in the stadium or the weather conditions.

A central eye is set in the centre of the roof and is crowned by a steel spherical shaped single layer steel dome.

The playing area is set on a series of moving platforms to allow the elevation  or movement of the same according to the event.
